About the training
MARMATHERAPY TRAINING
Marma therapy is a traditional Indian discipline closely linked to Ayurveda and the sciences of yoga. It is based on the stimulation of specific energy points called Marmas, considered to be vital zones where the physical and subtle dimensions of the body meet.
The Sanskrit word “Marma” means “hidden” or “secret”.
These points are described in traditional texts as junction zones where muscles, veins, ligaments, bones, joints and body structures meet, while also being related to the circulation of vital energy, Prana.
Ayurvedic tradition identifies 107 main Marma points, distributed throughout the body. These points are considered energy centers influencing the balance of the three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha).
Marma therapy involves stimulating, pressing or massaging these points in a specific way in order to act on energy balance, the circulation of Prana and certain physiological functions.
This approach can help support the natural processes of harmonizing body and mind.
The training is taught by Dr. Sankar KP, director of the AYURTODAY clinic in Guruvayur, Kerala (India). A renowned practitioner of Ayurvedic medicine, he offers traditional Ayurvedic treatments and therapies and delivers this training annually at our center.
