In France, it's difficult to offer three-week Panchakarma treatments mainly due to the cost. These treatments are less expensive in India because they are in line with the local cost of living. After 10 years of annual trips to Ayurvedic clinics in India, we organized our last wonderful stay in February 2024.
The length of the journey (nearly 17 hours between the plane and the taxi), the time difference and the significant air, water and land pollution (it exists of course in France but to a lesser extent) led us to think differently.
See our article: Ayurveda in France.
While a Panchakarma treatment typically lasts a minimum of 21 days, we offer 14-day stays, subject to a 14-day post-preparatory period for each participant. Following an in-person or video consultation, we will send you a personalized protocol with dietary and lifestyle recommendations to prepare you for your treatments during your 2-week retreat.
We also offer numerous one-week treatment programs. These short programs are no less beneficial; always personalized, the treatments are adapted to individual needs, and one or two karma sessions can be completed. Furthermore, they allow participants to integrate new habits conducive to prevention and healing.

PANCHAKARMA – A DEEP AYURVEDIC CLEANSING & REGENERATION PROCESS
Panchakarma, which literally means “five actions,” refers to a set of profound purification practices designed as a regenerative therapy known as Shodhana Chikitsa.
Going beyond simple symptom relief (Shamana Chikitsa), Panchakarma addresses both the symptoms and the root causes of imbalance by eliminating ama (toxins) accumulated in the dhatus (body tissues) and restoring the balance of the doshas.
THE THREE PHASES OF PANCHAKARMA
1. PURVAKARMA – PREPARATION PHASE
This initial stage prepares the body to eliminate toxins through two essential processes:
Snehana: Internal and external oleation. This includes the oral intake of medicated ghee over 3 to 7 days, as well as therapeutic oil massages applied externally.
Swedana: Therapeutic heat, applied through sauna or localized steam and herbal compresses.
2. PANCHAKARMA – MAIN CLEANSING PHASE
This phase traditionally includes up to five procedures (adapted according to individual needs ):
Vamana: Therapeutic emesis, primarily targeting Kapha imbalances located in the stomach
Virechana: Therapeutic purgation, acting mainly on Pitta located in the small intestine
Basti ( medicated enema ): Cleansing and regeneration of the colon, primarily balancing Vata
According to Ayurveda, conventional water-based colonics can be too aggressive. While they may bring short-term relief, they may weaken the colon over time by disturbing Vata in its primary seat.
Different types of Bastis are administered depending on the imbalance and are always oil-based:
Anuvasana Basti: Oil-based enemas using medicated oils, recommended for Vata disorders
Niruha Basti: Herbal decoction enemas combined with oils, rock salt, and honey, particularly effective for balancing Pitta and Kapha
Nasya: Cleansing of the head region through nasal administration, primarily balancing Vata
Raktamokshana: Therapeutic bloodletting ( not practiced in our center )
3. PASCHATKARMA – INTEGRATION & REGENERATION
This final phase focuses on rebuilding and stabilizing the body through:
Samsarjana Karma: Gradual reintroduction of an appropriate diet
Dinacharya: Establishing a daily routine and lifestyle practices to support long-term health and prevention
A complete Panchakarma is traditionally performed over a minimum of four weeks in a specialized setting and is recommended every three years.
The Panchakarma programs we offer (two weeks at the center combined with two weeks of preparation at home) can be undertaken once a year or every two years.
A HOLISTIC AND SUSTAINABLE APPROACH
A consistent and balanced lifestyle, combined with shorter one-week retreats, can be equally beneficial.
These shorter stays allow both the body and mind to rest and reset, while helping to integrate and maintain healthy habits adapted to individual needs.
