NADI PAREEKSHA
Pulse diagnosis in Ayurvedic medicine.
Nadi Pareeksha is one of the most subtle diagnostic methods in traditional Ayurvedic medicine. It is used by Vaidyas (Ayurvedic doctors) and experienced practitioners to obtain information about the body's functional state.
This technique involves observing and interpreting the different qualities of the pulse, allowing for the assessment of the balance or imbalance of the doshas (Vata, Pitta, Kapha), as well as certain constitutional and functional tendencies of the individual.
Reading the pulse also allows us to gather useful information for understanding Prakriti (birth constitution) and Vikriti (present imbalances).
In the Ayurvedic tradition, Nadi Pareeksha is part of a holistic diagnostic approach, combining several observation methods. Learning this technique will therefore be associated with the study of other assessment tools used in Ayurveda, including the observation of the tongue, eyes, and skin.
This training, taught by Dr. Sankar, an Ayurvedic doctor and director of the AYURTODAY clinic in Kerala, will be fully translated into French by Cathy Grau, a bilingual Ayurveda practitioner.
